A NBC tévécsatorna reggeli hírműsorában lesz egy mystery skype, ahol egy  amerikai és egy  magyar iskola( mi)  fogunk játszani.
A felvételhez szükség van:
-Szülői engedélyre ( megjött, nyomtatom-azoknak, akiknek a  szülei nem tudnak angolul, próbálok magyart szerezni, de elküldeni az angol aláírtat kell-épp az ünnepek miatt nem könnyű )
-Pontos névsort kérnek . Tehát aki aláírja, annak jönnie kell erre a skype-ra.

Mindenkit szeretettel várok, aki eddig dolgozott ebben a játékban.

-Időpont: ( tervezett) 2014.01.15.    délután 4 óra

-Ismerték a munkánkat, a wikinket, a rendszerünket, a skype-jainkat. ( végre valakit érdekelt, hogy mit csinálunk....itt helyben csak ellenszél van)


Elküldték a szerződést,a  szülői belegyező nyilatkozatot.

Amy Rosenstein teaches third grade at Concord Road Elementary. While she teaches reading, writing, math, and social studies, she often incorporates technology into her classroom.  Students have the chance to create a variety of projects which really make them shine.

Amy was recently given a Pioneer Award, presented every year to a school district, teacher, and director of technology in New York’s Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties by the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center. The awards are in recognition for innovative uses of technology that change teaching and learning.  She credits Skype in the classroom with helping her win this award. In fact, her students from five years ago still visit her and share how their Skype lessons are what they remember most about the third grade.

She reports that, at the beginning of the 2012/2013 school year, her students filled out blank world maps as a social studies assessment and then did the exercise again in June.  The results were remarkable and students attributed their newfound knowledge to Skype. They placed Skype calls with people in Russia, India, Italy, Sweden, England, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Kenya.  Having that direct connection made all the difference. During these calls, art and culture have often been part of the conversation. For example, during a call with another class in Kenya, the two classes sang songs with each other in their native languages – English and Swahili. On another occasion calling a class in India, her students were shown local artwork made with real gold. Take a look at the video here of Amy’s class calling three women in Spain during the Spring of 2013. The Spanish women discussed popular musical instruments (like the Spanish guitar), played their national anthem, and demonstrated the Flamenco dance practiced in Spain. Amy has shared with us that her students frequently get the opportunity to listen to music from other cultures during their various Skype calls around the world. So not only are they learning geography, but also how art and culture vary differently in countries around the world.

You can also watch this Skype call with Hong Kong to see an example of the call with two American boys (Matthew and Josh) who moved to Hong Kong with their family a couple years ago. Amy has conducted a Skype call with these boys for a couple years now and says it’s really fun and engaging for everyone. The students will ask the boys questions about the culture, customs, food, etc., and it also gives them a chance to learn how to ask good questions, practice public speaking, and learn good listening skills which is part of the “Common Core Standard” student requirement.

Skype also lends itself to the new Common Core Standards student requirement at Amy’s school in that it really improves speaking and listening skills. Kids learn to listen closely and ask thoughtful questions with follow-up inquiries.
