Educational Technology and Mobile Learning has recently started posting a series of " a-lits-of-articles " containing free resources pertaining to different subject areas. We are intent to provide teachers , no matter what discipline they teach, with an online springboard to help them better search for and find materials and resources relevant to the subject matter he/she is teaching.

So after publishing free resources about Social Studies, Science, and Math, today we are providing you with a list of great free websites for Language Arts. Check it out and let us know what you think about it.

1- Education World

This is one of my favourite resources online. It has different sections relevant to Language Arts teachers including the following :

A- Language and Literature Subject Centre

It provides free reading, language arts, and literature teaching materials.

B- Language Arts Worksheet Library

It provides a variety of language arts lessons and worksheets for teachers to select from.

C- The Reading Machine

It provides links to 36 online games to help your students practice and enhance their skills.

D- Writing Bugs

This is a library of writing bug printables full of lesson ideas

E- Fun Grammar Activities

This one provides games, activities,and lesson plans on how to better teach grammar

F- Vocabulous

Use Vocabulous to challenge your middle-grades and high-school students to build a fabulous vocabulary.

2- Lesson Plans Pages

As its name suggests, this section provides some great resources on laguage art lesson planning. It has also links, activities, games and many more.

3- Web English Teacher

This one here provides teachers with links to a variety of language arts websites. I have checked some of the websites it recommends and I can confirm that they are really great.

4- Creative Writing

This is another section from Web English Teacher. It provides links to websites that promote creative writings. The links work perfectly and they lead to some awesome websites.

5- National Council of Teachers of English

This is a must stop by website. Teachers of English from all around the globe use it to connect to each other and share resources and materials.

6- Learner.org

This is a great website that offers free resources on a variety of disciplines including: Arts, Foreign Language, Literature and language Arts, History and many more.

7- Sheppard Software

Sheppard Software's Language Arts features a variety of games for different grade levels ( Elementary , middle schools, and high school ).

8- National Writing Project

The National Writing Project's 30 Ideas for Teaching Writing offers successful strategies contributed by experienced Writing Project teachers.

9- Daily Grammar

This archive contains links to free grammar lessons and quizzes. It consists of 440 lessons and 88 quizzes.

10- ABC'S of The Writing Process

The purpose of this site is to provide a user friendly online resource, for students and teachers, no matter what they are being challenged to write.

11- Read Write Think

This is another great website for Language Arts teachers . It provides teaching materials for different grades and on a variety of topics.

12- Teaching Today

Teaching Today offers several lesson plans and pre-reading strategies to increase comprehension of nonfiction text.

1) British Council LearnEnglish This is the official YouTube channel of the British Council. Videos are professional looking and include skits of real-life scenarios. They also boast several animated grammar lessons.

2) Anglo-Link Run by Minoo Short of the UK, this channel provides lessons that are several minutes long and focus on subjects such as phrasal verbs, vocabulary, and listening skills.

3) JenniferESL When you learn English with Jennifer, you feel like you’re learning from a caring mentor. Geared more toward beginning students, Jennifer’s videos cover a wide variety of topics and include colorful slides and graphics to assist with learning.

4) Rachel’s English Rachel knows American pronunciation. She has a background in classical singing, and she brings her expertise of voice and pronunciation to all of her videos. If you’re looking to “reduce” your accent or refine your pronunciation, Rachel’s English is a great place to start.

5) EnglishLessons4U One of EngVid’s 8 teachers, Ronnie brings a quirky sensibility to learning English. Her lessons are informative, practical, and a lot of fun.

6) Let’s Talk This India-based channel focuses on accent training, correct grammar usage, idioms, phrases and vocabulary. With practical tips and clear instruction, these videos are a great resource for learners from any country.

This UK-based channel provides simple lessons to improve listening and reading comprehension. While most other channels on this list involve a person teaching on-screen, ESL and Popular Culture focuses on images and text to accompany audio lessons.

8) KidsTV123 These delightful videos are filled with colorful graphics and upbeat children’s songs, focused on teaching phonics. You’ll find yourself humming these songs long after your lesson is over.

9) Learn English 20 percek kisvideókA great resource for beginners, Learn English’s videos stage skits and basic lessons, complete with graphics, visuals, and subtitles.
